I have been having a prod see about the hark and heralded, Internet Explorer and Firefox killer web browser Google Chrome which is based on Webkit, of Safari fame.
Ever since i switched back to Mac OS X for web relatad activities on acquiring a MacBook, i have used Safari for its quick response with Wordpress as well as its snappy response when browsing Java heavy or Flash intensive web sites, which unfortunately quite a number of blogs are wont to be, blame the richer web experience promised, which in some cases is true, but i digress.
Since the browser was released for the windows platform i have made the ultimate sacrifice and have been using the oft ignored PC running Windows XP in the corner silently amassing Viruses and Trojans of ill repute without any intereference from me, with a stoic effort to keep them at bay, mostly unsuccessfuly, is effected by Kaspersky.
So far the experience is much better than any browser i have used, this being not based on science since i have not performed benchmark tests but go with how it responds and the wait times for it to do things like bring up the links dialog in worpress as well as quicker flash uload of pictures to posts, see previous post, was disposed of before i could go loitering about the office distracting all and sundry as they tried to be productive and such.
So for those who have been suffering through the memory hogging slow loading Internet Explorer and rival Firefox, i would recommend you use it if your browsing involves a lot of Google applications like Gmail, Google Docs and/or Google Reader.
Now, what you waiting for? Go download yourself a copy, and be sure to come back and discuss it right here in the comments.

Google Chrome has taken the right new approach to the web.
I however see a veiled launch of a platform to run web applications (masquerading as a web browser). The Google Boys have obviously denied this. See http://peternjenga.blogspot.com/2008/09/googles-new-chrome-web-browser.html and http://www.eweek.com/showblog/49387/Googles-Sergey-Brin-Denies-Chrome-is-The-OS-For-Web-Apps/
Let us wait and see what happens…
test
I have installed it but why doesn’t it play flash videos???
How about plugins?
Linux version?
I have read that it shall, in time have the usual plugins since its an OpenSource project. As for the flash video thing, i did not experience that, it played the flash video without any additional plugin download.
It seems lighter and sleeker. That is the reading of a non-tech-savvy person. Does it count?
@Bazanye –
That is pretty much all that we are trying to say. I see summary was your favorite english lesson.
@Bazanye
Exactly.
That is the whole point anyway. The ability to experience the new web with no glitches or browser crashes.
I don’t know so much about IT but the thing failed to play some media, something to do with Adobe plug-ins.
Anyhow I have already flashed Firefox for it just because it looks cool and seems to be faster
